Airbrushed Legs?!

We all know summer is the time to show off your legs, but what if you're not comfortable with the way they look? Your options are to keep them covered all summer which obviously is not ideal since half the fun of summer is all the cute outfits, or to do what I do and conceal the imperfections you are self conscious about! How do I do that you ask? With the most amazing product that has changed the insecurities I had about my legs and helps me want to rock shorts and dresses, Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. Basically it's a water resistant make up for your legs that stays in place all day. You apply it just like you would a lotion and it will last until you wash them with soap and water.

Obviously the leg on the right has no product on it and the one on the left has on sally hansen leg make up.  Such a huge difference! This covers scars I have, dark veins, and cellulite.

It comes in 4 different shades, I use the color light. It also comes in an aerosol spray but for me the lotion is easier to apply because I dont have to worry about getting excess spray everywhere. You can purchase at CVS, Target, or any drugstore but I have linked it from Target because it's the cheapest!

Hopefully this post will provide you with a solution if you are feeling insecure about your legs this summer and will help you feel confident in any outfit like it does for me!!

Denim Shorts Round-Up

Girls, the weather is finally warming up and I am so ready for summer! That leads me to a serious question; what summer wardrobe would be complete without the perfect pair of denim shorts? The answer is, not a single one. Finding the right pair of denim shorts when you're in your 30's (or 40's, 50's 60's and so on) can be challenging. For me the perfect pair is not too short, wider around the thigh so they aren't squeezing you in all the wrong places, and maybe have a slight distressed look to them. That's a lot of criteria for one pair of shorts, I know, however that's what I'm here for. I'm here to find great fitting, affordable pieces for you, and I take that job verrrrrry seriously! Okay, so this first pair of shorts are technically called "mom" shorts, and I may not be a mom but to me these are a great fit. Mom shorts usually are the perfect high rise and not too short. This pair from american eagle have all of those things plus the perfect amount of distressing. ae mom shorts image from: ae.com

This next pair is from my favorite store, h&m. These shorts are also more of a high rise (even though they are described online as low rise) have a button fly, and have a darker wash. They are a shorter fit put perfect for a vacation or the beach. I love pairing shorter denim shorts with a one piece bathing suit because if I am feeling too insecure laying around in just a bathing suit this outfit will provide just enough coverage without having to always wear a cover up. hm denim button fly shorts image from: hm.com

What I love about this next pair of boyfriend shorts from old navy is that they come in a 3" inseam so the are still short but since they are a boyfriend fit they will be looser on your thighs and would be great for weekend activities in the summer. old navy boyfriend shorts image from:oldnavy.com

Okay so you want to wear denim shorts but feel self conscious in short shorts? Well than these next two pairs are for you. This first pair from the gap are great because they have a 5" inseam which makes them a little longer without going all the way to bremuda shorts. I love the darker wash on them and also the distressed cuff detail is super cute. gap mid rise 5" denim shorts  image from:gap.com

Now if those still aren't long enough, I have found the cutest bremuda shorts. My friend Julie was telling me she only wears bremuda style shorts and at the time I was thinking I would never ever wear bremuda shorts. However while searching them I have changed my mind. There are tons of cute styles out there. For me I like the styles that have a cuff on them rather than a raw hem, so this pair from the gap are my perfect pair. gap high rise 7" denim shorts   image from:gap.com

Okay, one last denim short trend I am fully on board with is the come back of the shortall's. Since I grew up in the 90's (which of course I consider to have had the greatest fashion of all time) I used have lots of overalls both regular and short, so of course I was super pumped to rock a pair 20 years later. I found the cutest pair, so from the gap and if are you into this trend you guys will love these. gap denim short overalls  image from:gap.com

Hopefully this post has given you guys some great finds for many different styles of denim shorts depending upon your own preferences for what fit you want! Thanks for stopping by!!

My Favorite Spring Dresses from Old Navy

Hi friends! It's almost spring (thank goodness) and the warmer weather will be here soon. One of my favorite things about spring/warmer weather is dresses! I am loving Old Navy lately and I have put together a list of my favorite dresses I think you all would love that are super affordable and cute.

First up is this adorable fit & flare pale blue dress. It would be a perfect Easter dress but what I also love about it is that it is work appropriate (at least for teachers). It would look so cute with wedges or flats and its under $40. Fit & Flare Smocked Dress
Next I am loving this midi length mixed floral cami dress. It's so cute for a hot day but also would look perfect paired with a denim jacket which would make it work appropriate as well. Fit & Flare Cami Midi Dress

My favorite dress for spring has got to be this white tiered pintuck dress that's also under $40. I love that there are so many options as far as styling this dress. You could dress it up with wedges and statement jewelry (especially with a pop pf color) or you could pair it with keds and a denim jacket, just to name a few. Tiered Pintuck Dress
Next is this lace-up striped shift dress that is a great transitional dress because it is a thicker material which keeps you a little warmer. This is a great option for work but would also be a great weekend dress paired with sneakers. Lace-up Striped Shift Dress
Lastly is this super cute sleeveless ruffle trimmed shirt dress. It comes in a few adorable patterns and would be great for work or weekends. It would be really cute with sandals and a straw hat on the weekend or with flats for a work day. Also when a dress looks like it may be too short for work I always order it in a tall when available. Sleeveless Ruffle Trim Shirt Dress
I hope these dress gave you some spring style inspiration and got you excited for the warmer weather! These images are all from oldnavy.com and there are tons of other cute dresses available as well!
